Anoop Santhakumar

Anoop Santhakumar is a graphic designer from Kerala. Well known as a director through his short films and music albums. Passionate in writing and has published short stories through his blog.

Career

After completing his commerce graduation, he joined a diploma course in multimedia and animation. After which he specialized in compositing and animation and started working as a graphic designer in visual media and advertising industry. He worked as a motion graphic designer and editor in advertising production studios in India and abroad.

He subsequently progressed to directing and editing short films. Has done more than a dozens of short films and well known with ‘360°’ (2014), ‘Kaanichu tharatto’ (2015) and Sookshmam (2020).

Short Story Writer

Anoop Santhakumar is a short story writer. His first short story ‘Ennu swantham Selin’ has been published in Kerala Kaumudi daily. Later, many were published on online medias, including the popular Manorama online. His blog story ” Poocha Chodyangal ulla kathha ” has been included in the second-semester Malayalam textbook ” Cyber Ezhuthum vaayanayum” for the B.A. degree course at Mahatma Gandhi University in 2025 by the Board of Studies.

Blog

Anoop Santhakumar started his first blog named ‘Jeevashaakhi’ in 2010 with all his penning creations. It continued till 2014. After a long break, he launched the waybayme, a short story blog, and put out his writings.

Achivements

Short film ‘Kanichcu tharatto’ was awarded as the Best short film in ‘Kochi Metro Short film festival (2016)’ organized by Actor Ravindran.

As a designer, he has won the best logo designer award for various logo design contests conducted on competitive basis. His designs were selected for National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) 2019, District Athletic meet 2016, and Beypore International Water Fest and many other events conducted by the Kerala government and other organizations.

Short Films

Anoop Santhakumar has narrated, directed and edited more than a dozens of short films. ‘360°’ (2014) a war short film and ‘Sookshmam’ (2020) a short movie based on Covid-19 lockdown received wide media coverage and viewer’s response.
